Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for cath lab patients
• Assist cardiologists and the interventional team during catheterization procedures
• Continuously monitor patient hemodynamics and respond promptly to changes
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, ensuring procedural safety and infection control
• Administer medications, contrast agents and supportive therapies as ordered
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care and follow-up
• Accurately document assessments, interventions and procedural details in the medical record
• Participate in unit quality improvement, safety initiatives and teamwork to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure (license/certificate verification required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Prior experience or training in the cardiac catheterization lab (Cath Lab)
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and required competency testing
• Ability to pass required health screenings: TB/PPD or IGRA, immunizations, drug screen, fit test and physical
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced procedural settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with cath lab equipment and monitoring systems
• Telemetry and ECG interpretation skills in the procedural context
• Aseptic technique and procedural sterile practices
• Intravenous medication administration and contrast handling
• Accurate EMR documentation and procedural charting
• Patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring and rapid critical thinking
• Team communication and collaboration with physicians, techs and ancillary staff
