Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients during overnight shifts
• Assess and monitor complex, critically ill patients using hemodynamic and ventilator data
• Administer medications and titrate drips safely according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Perform timely and accurate documentation in the EHR to support continuity of care
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in codes or rapid response teams
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication during stressful times

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or eligible for licensure prior to start
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU or critical care nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS highly recommended or willingness to obtain
• Travel nurse readiness: up-to-date immunizations, background check and required credentials
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently overnight and excellent teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and hemodynamic monitoring
• Mechanical ventilator management and airway care
• Safe administration and titration of vasoactive drips
• Strong documentation skills in electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
