Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals and Pulse Oximetry, and prepare them for provider exams with professionalism and care
• Chart thoroughly and accurately in Epic to support fast-paced rheumatology clinic workflows
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and assist with positioning/draping and aseptic/sterile procedure setup when needed
• Manage administrative clinic duties including scheduling, insurance verification, authorization forms, and chart preparation
• Handle pharmacy calls and refill requests, and follow up on lab results to close the loop on patient care
• Triage telephone calls and perform meaningful follow-up phone calls to support patient needs
• Stock and order supplies, maintain exam room readiness, and help keep clinic operations running smoothly
• Float between North Gate and Beacon Hill clinics as needed, showing flexibility while staying within your scope

Qualifications

• MA-C (Certified Medical Assistant) REQUIRED at time of signature — MA-R will not be accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification REQUIRED
• At least 6 months of experience working as an MA in an adult outpatient clinic is required
• Epic charting experience REQUIRED
• Pending licenses are not accepted; MA-C must be in-hand
• First-time contract clinicians are welcome — enthusiasm and willingness to learn count
• Reliable personal transportation required (public transit not acceptable) to travel between clinic sites
• Able to commit to a 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent employment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Epic electronic charting and clinical documentation
• Skilled in taking vital signs, height/weight, and performing 12-lead EKGs
• Strong telephone triage, patient follow-up, and communication skills
• Experienced with scheduling, insurance verification, and authorization forms
• Comfortable managing refill requests and pharmacy communications
• Able to set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays and assist with minor procedures
• Detail-oriented with strong administrative abilities and time management
• Team-player attitude with the ability to float between clinics as needed
