Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and adjust mechanical ventilators and provide advanced ventilator management for high-acuity patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Provide tracheostomy care and assist with intubation procedures as needed
• Deliver high flow oxygen therapy and bronchodilator treatments to optimize patient breathing
• Respond to code blue events and participate in critical emergency interventions
• Assess patients regularly and coordinate safe patient transport when necessary
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Use airway clearance techniques and specialized devices (e.g., Metaneb, Vapotherm) to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (Experience: 2)
• One year of ICU experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and covering every other weekend
• Experience with ventilator management, trach care, ABG analysis, and code response

Education

• RRT or CRT certification required (Respiratory Therapy credential)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Drager ventilators and Philips V60 systems
• Experience with high-flow devices such as Vapotherm and airway clearance devices like Metaneb
• Skilled in ABG collection/analysis and ventilator troubleshooting
• Strong patient assessment and airway management skills, including intubation assist
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and hospital workflow
• Able to respond effectively to code blue situations and perform safe patient transport
