Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the physical therapy program, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth department operations
• Supervise, train and schedule hourly and contract therapy staff to maintain safe, effective clinical services
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and other modalities
• Provide hands-on patient care including gait training, balance re-education, assistive device assessment and muscle reeducation
• Monitor patient progress, modify treatments as needed, and consult with physicians on long-range care plans
• Oversee clinical education by supervising physical therapy students and coaching staff on best practices
• Manage the department budget, prepare monthly and periodic reports, and order supplies and equipment as needed
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Physical Therapy license (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
• Minimum five years of practical physical therapy experience
• Minimum three years of management experience in a rehab therapy department
• Strong communication skills and commitment to HIPAA and regulatory compliance

Education

• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in patient assessment, therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques
• Proficient with electrical stimulation, ultrasound, taping, traction and other modalities
• Experience with gait training, balance re-education and wheelchair/assistive device assessment
• Budget management, staff scheduling and department supervision experience
• Clinical teaching, patient education and quality improvement participation
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and strong documentation practices
