Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe and stable
• Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with precision and judgment
• Administer blood products and oversee central line and PICC care
• Implement IV insulin protocols and manage insulin drips for complex glycemic needs
• Provide post-procedure recovery care for kidney biopsy and paracentesis patients
• Deliver advanced respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC when indicated
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Epic and manage medications via Pyxis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality transplant patient care

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN License required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with strong Stepdown/PCU background
• Experience with transplant populations (renal, liver, pancreas) or high-acuity medical patients preferred
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central line and PICC management
• Familiarity with Epic charting and Pyxis medication system
• Willingness to float within the OSU organization and provide weekend coverage as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Advanced respiratory support: BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Central line and PICC care, blood product administration
• Post-procedure recovery: kidney biopsy and paracentesis
• Renal and liver transplant patient care and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Familiarity with bladder scanner, dopplers, CAPD exchanges, feeding tube care, and Epic documentation
