Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to postpartum mothers and their newborns
• Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and hypoglycemia
• Educate new parents on breastfeeding, infant care, and recovery after delivery
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal outcomes
• Adhere to quality bundles for postpartum hemorrhage, hypertension, and infant thermoregulation
• Document care accurately in EPIC and participate in unit-specific orientation

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington or compact state (willing to wait for license)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Post-Partum or Mother-Baby experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of postpartum care, including hemorrhage and hypertension management
• Proficiency in mother-baby couplet care and newborn resuscitation
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced acute care setting
