Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to progressive care patients from admission through discharge
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition, intervening promptly as needed
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Lead and precept staff as a clinical resource, offering guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Deliver patient and family education, discharge planning, and emotional support throughout the care journey
Qualifications
- Current Montana RN licensure (required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Practice experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit with recent Critical Care or Progressive Care nursing experience required
- EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
- Ability to function as a clinical leader and preceptor with strong communication skills
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and advanced nursing procedures
- Telemetry and EKG interpretation
- Ventilator support (invasive and noninvasive)
- Central line, arterial line (A-line), chest tube, and nasogastric tube care
- IV therapy management and operation of multiple IV pumps
- Use and troubleshooting of advanced medical equipment
- Discharge planning and interdisciplinary collaboration
