Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients in a Level II Trauma center
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to ensure efficient, patient-centered workflows
• Maintain sterile technique and instrument readiness for a variety of outpatient procedures
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity and quality of care
• Float to Main OR when needed and adapt quickly to different surgical environments
• Participate in pre-op and post-op patient education and handoffs to optimize recovery and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current BLS and CPR (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room (OR) experience (required)
• EPIC experience (required) — comfortable documenting in an electronic medical record
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments preferred
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
• Level II Trauma experience and outpatient surgery familiarity are a plus
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and float to Main OR

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills and OR workflow knowledge
• Familiarity with outpatient surgery processes and patient throughput
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and perioperative charting
• Excellent sterile technique and instrument handling
• Ability to communicate clearly with surgery teams and patients
• Flexible problem-solving skills for fast-paced surgical settings
