Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and techs to ensure efficient case flow
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field; manage instruments and supplies
• Assess patients pre- and post-operatively and document care clearly
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience
• Participate in team huddles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required prior to the start of contract
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification; additional perioperative certifications a plus
• Experience working in an operating room (OR) environment
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts and consecutive weekends as needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-paced clinical settings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic and sterile technique for the operating room
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR protocols
• Patient assessment and perioperative monitoring
• Efficient time management and case preparation skills
• Calm decision-making under pressure and clear documentation practices
