Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the MST unit
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, responding quickly to changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Document patient status and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge
- Support unit workflows and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California licensure required or as applicable
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- MST experience or prior medical-surgical/telemetry experience preferred
- Comfortable with IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in fast-paced teams
- Ability to pass required background checks and comply with facility policies
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and critical thinking for acute care situations
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
- Medication administration and IV management
- Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation proficiency
- Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- Team collaboration, time management, and patient education
