Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care with attention to safety and quality
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and report changes in condition promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
- Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and participate in unit-based quality improvement
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in Louisiana (or eligible for state licensure)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred
- Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and support unit staffing needs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid fundamentals in Med/Surg nursing and patient assessment
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
