Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document according to policy
• Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois or eligibility for state licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
• Previous Med/Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification and proof of required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong clinical judgment, reliable attendance, and professional communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices, patient assessment, and medication administration
• Experience with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients safely
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills
• Basic wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care capabilities
