Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Self-scheduling with 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every third weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to diverse patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and managing complex medical conditions
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes on a busy 28-bed unit with overflow capacity
Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports to keep patients and families informed and comfortable
Float to PCU and behavioral health units when needed, showcasing your adaptability and clinical versatility
Administer medications and monitor IV therapies while maintaining strict safety and infection-control standards

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
Current BLS certification required
Minimum one year of recent Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and time-management skills
Willingness to float between units and embrace change

Knowledge & Skills

Total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, wound care, sepsis, CHF, and behavioral health considerations
Hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting best practices
Safe medication administration and IV therapy management
Electronic health record documentation and teamwork across disciplines
