Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days or nights); specific start/end times not provided in the posting. Schedule set by manager; every-other-weekend requirement; holiday coverage as needed; guaranteed 36 hours/week.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, antepartum and postpartum patients
- Monitor and manage labor progress and intervene appropriately to ensure safe deliveries
- Safely titrate and manage drips (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium, Procardia) per protocol
- Support breastfeeding and provide lactation assistance consistent with baby-friendly practices
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Participate in unit orientation and competency validation (including pass/fail skills assessment during orientation)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit) for Nebraska
- BLS and NRP certifications — required
- Minimum 3 years of labor & delivery experience
- Driver's license required at submittal (used for radius verification)
- Willingness to follow unit policies (e.g., no artificial nails for patient care) and pass orientation testing (90% pass threshold)
- Comfort and experience titrating obstetric drips
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the 50-mile radius
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — required
- BSN not required (posting indicates BSN: ---)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor & delivery, antepartum and postpartum nursing
- Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and OB nursing ratios (1:3; 1:1 for active labor)
- Breastfeeding/lactation support skills
- Ability to titrate common obstetric drips safely (Pitocin, magnesium, Procardia)
- Proficient documentation skills in EPIC
- Charge nurse experience is a plus (leadership and assignment management)
