Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs continuously
Assist with deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency procedures
Educate patients and families on newborn care and breastfeeding
Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and support staff for positive outcomes
Advocate for patient preferences and ensure a safe birth experience

Qualifications

Active RN license in Illinois (or compact license eligible)
Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Knowledge & Skills

Fetal heart monitoring interpretation and intervention
Labor support and pain management techniques
Emergency obstetric response (e.g., hemorrhage, cord prolapse)
Patient and family education on postpartum and newborn care
Electronic medical record documentation (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
IV therapy, medication administration, and blood product transfusion
