Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care to ICU patients, including post-CABG and cardiac surgical care
• Monitor and interpret advanced hemodynamic data to drive timely clinical interventions
• Manage ventilated patients and coordinate ventilator care plans with the team
• Perform bedside assessments, deliver evidence-based interventions, and document in Meditech
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapy, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
• Deliver compassionate bedside shift reports and maintain clear patient communication
• Adhere to unit policies, infection control, and hospital standards to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license (temporary license not accepted) — required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (previous ICU travel or facility ICU experience preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Experience or comfort with post-CABG care; ECMO, heart transplant or CVICU experience is a strong plus
• Meditech experience preferred
• Professional bedside communication skills; bedside shift report and teamwork required

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Ventilator management for complex patients
• Post-operative cardiac care (CABG, transplant support)
• CPR, BLS and ACLS protocols
• Experience with ECMO and advanced cardiac therapies (preferred)
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and unit-specific workflows
