Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to ICU patients while maintaining safety and compassion
• Monitor and manage complex telemetry and ventilator-dependent patients
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as CPAP/BiPAP management, therapeutic phlebotomy, and physician-led paracentesis
• Manage central lines, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound VACs and post-dialysis assessments with clinical skill and attention to detail
• Administer and monitor blood transfusions and advanced therapies according to hospital protocols
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech Expanse
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients, families, and providers

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in good standing (compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIH certification (must be renewed annually)
• Comfort and experience with ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, and critical care procedures

• ICU nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Ventilator management and weaning
• Telemetry monitoring (Philips telemetry experience noted)
• Meditech Expanse documentation system
• Baxter infusion pumps and iMobile usage
• CPAP/BiPAP management
• Central line care and blood transfusion protocols
• Chest tube, NG tube, wound VAC, and drain management
• Therapeutic phlebotomy and paracentesis (physician-led)
• Glucometer use and bedside monitoring
