Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency nursing care across multiple facilities in Zone 1 (Colorado Springs area)
• Float between Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More as needed
• Triage and stabilize patients with diverse conditions including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and other emergencies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, techs, and respiratory therapists
• Adapt quickly to varying unit sizes, patient volumes (40-168 patients/day), and acuity levels
• Maintain a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity for safe, quality care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Active and unrestricted RN license in Colorado (or compact license accepted)
• Willingness to float within a 60-mile radius across Zone 1 facilities
• Ability to start on August 3, 2026 for a 13-week assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing skills including interpretation of telemetry strips
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
• Excellent communication and adaptability skills for floating across units
