Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department, delivering timely, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing interventions.
Rapidly and accurately triage patients, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs to maintain safe patient flow.
Collaborate and communicate clearly with ER physicians, mid-level providers, families, and allied health staff regarding changes in patient status and diagnostic results.
Lead and give direction to Emergency Department techs, registration staff, and allied health staff to ensure coordinated care.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and to treatment responses, initiating interventions as appropriate.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and operate manual and electronic medical equipment competently.

Qualifications

Current Montana RN license required.
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
Basic computer and office skills for documentation and communication.

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment in the emergency setting.
Proficiency in IV therapy and ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment.
Solid understanding of emergency department nursing principles and procedures.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with physicians, mid-level providers, patients, and families.
Teamwork and leadership abilities to coordinate care and direct support staff effectively.
