Location: Long Beach, California

Start Date: 07-13-2026

End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Days, 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with on-call and rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $90 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the sterile field for complex cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy
Collaborate with surgeons and surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Monitor patient vitals and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
Coordinate and manage emergency situations with composure and expertise
Document patient care accurately in Cerner and Surginet systems
Respond to on-call requirements within 30 minutes as needed

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA
Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience
Proficiency with Cerner and Surginet EMR systems
Ability to scrub and circulate; scrubbing preferred but not required
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instruments
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
Familiarity with call response procedures and time management
Flexibility to float within the OR as needed
