Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient start to every case
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Circulate procedures and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cases
• Administer procedural sedation and manage patient safety according to policy
• Document care and procedure details in MacLab/CardioLab and the electronic record in real time
• Operate and monitor cardiac equipment including fluoroscopy, intra-cardiac ultrasound, and hemodynamic monitors
• Perform and interpret bedside cardiovascular assessments and communicate abnormal findings immediately
• Participate in Time Out/Full Stop safety checks and enforce sterile and safety protocols
• Support new staff through active preceptorship and contribute to team education
• Maintain certifications, participate in unit education, and pursue specialty growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant jurisdiction
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Required experience: ICU, CVICU, IMC or Cath Lab experience preferred — new grads and Med/Surg-only applicants are not being considered at this time
• Experience in Cardiovascular and/or Electrophysiology labs preferred (device implants, EP procedures, structural heart)
• Demonstrated proficiency with procedural circulation, patient assessment, and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to document in MacLab/CardioLab and other electronic charting systems
• Comfort with varied shift lengths and responding to an on-call pager

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred (or obtain within 36 months of hire if not already obtained)
• Associate Degree in Nursing accepted
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (diploma) accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in procedure room preparation and sterile technique
• Strong patient assessment and cardiovascular monitoring skills
• Fluoroscopy proficiency and familiarity with intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Experience with EP lab equipment, 3D mapping systems, and device implantation/revision
• Familiarity with structural procedures such as TAVR and LAAO and peripheral interventions like EVAR
• Ability to administer and monitor procedural sedation safely
• Excellent documentation and real-time charting in MacLab/CardioLab
• Effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety/time-out protocols
