Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shifts (in-house call), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Specific dates currently needed: 2026-05-10, 2026-05-24, 2026-05-26, 2026-06-02, 2026-06-04, 2026-06-07, 2026-06-17, 2026-06-23, 2026-06-25, 2026-06-26, 2026-06-27; plus ongoing nights as needed. Shift type: night (in-house call).
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $280 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide in-house Level 3 NICU coverage during assigned 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts, ensuring continuous, high-quality care
- Attend C-sections and perform immediate neonatal stabilization and resuscitation as needed
- Manage admissions and ongoing care for NICU patients, including critical decision-making and coordinated plans
- Stabilize and arrange transport/transfer of neonates when higher-level care or transfer is required
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner/PowerChart (EHR)
- Collaborate with obstetrics, nursing, respiratory therapy, and transfer teams to optimize outcomes
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with families about clinical status and care plans
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completed Neonatology fellowship (required)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
- State medical license in hand for Michigan (candidates needing to obtain a state license will not be accepted)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Comfort and demonstrated experience attending C-sections and managing neonatal transport/transfer
- Experience working in a Level 3 NICU and managing high-acuity neonates
- Ability to work independently during in-house night shifts and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Education
- MD or DO with Neonatology fellowship (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal resuscitation skills and hands-on NICU procedures
- Experience with neonatal stabilization and inter-facility transfer logistics
- Proficiency with Cerner/PowerChart (EHR) for documentation and order entry
- Clinical judgment for managing complex, high-acuity newborns
- Clear, compassionate communication with families and care teams
- Ability to function effectively during overnight in-house call coverage
