Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivering hands-on interventions that restore strength, mobility, and function.
Implement therapeutic procedures and modalities to reduce pain and improve range of motion and coordination.
Assist patients with mobility training and the safe use of assistive devices to promote independence.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes and outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Follow the State Practice Act and clinic protocols to ensure safe, compliant, and effective treatment.
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and long-term recovery goals.

Qualifications

Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Valid California Physical Therapist Assistant license (LPTA)
Ability to function under the clinical supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and follow the State Practice Act

Education

Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

Therapeutic modalities and therapeutic procedures
Use of assistive devices and mobility training
Range of motion and strengthening exercises
Patient assessment, documentation, and rehabilitation techniques
Pain management strategies and coordination with supervising PT
Familiarity with the California State Practice Act and clinical supervision practices
