Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately to ensure patient safety
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Compound and verify sterile IV preparations using Dose Edge
• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians and Pyxis operations
• Conduct medication verification, first dose checks and emergency med box checks
• Document clinical interventions and medication changes in Meditech
• Participate in pain consults and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Promote safe medication practices and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience (as indicated)
• Experience with sterile compounding and verifying IVs
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience preferred
• Experience supervising technicians and working with Pyxis/Dose Edge/Pak Edge

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication verification and dispensing skills
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing expertise
• Compounding sterile IVs and using Dose Edge for verification
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Pak Edge automated systems
• Experience with Meditech EMR documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced inpatient setting
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload across a hospital pharmacy
