Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, treating each person with dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and thoroughly to support continuity and quality
- Support rehabilitation activities as directed by the care team
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Previous experience in geriatrics, long-term care, or rehab settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care and safe transfers
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program and active GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatrics and age-related care needs
- Skilled in activities of daily living (ADL) support and safe resident handling
- Familiarity with documentation practices and electronic charting
- Understanding of infection control standards and patient safety
- Teamwork, time management, and clear communication with residents and staff
