Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening shift (day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving resident dignity
Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
Help with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Support mealtime assistance and document intake as required
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification or equivalent as required by state regulations
Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living
Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
Comfort with documentation and following care plans
Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
Good interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset
