Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care and resident observations
• Assist with meal set-up, feeding support, and ensuring dietary needs are met
• Help maintain a clean, dignified environment that promotes resident comfort
• Collaborate with the care team to implement personalized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you’ll be using this every shift
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility vaccination requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled at assisting with ADLs: bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming
• Basic vital signs and intake/output observation
• Knowledge of infection control and safe handling practices
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
