Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem, days vary, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and document resident status, behaviors, and any changes
Support safe, dignified feeding and meal assistance as needed
Communicate clearly with the nursing team and families about resident needs
Maintain a clean and safe environment that supports resident well being
Participate in care planning and follow assigned care tasks reliably

Qualifications

Current GNA certification or equivalent credential
Comfort working with geriatric populations and demonstrating patience and empathy
Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate with the care team
Willingness to complete facility-required screenings and onboarding

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
Skilled at assisting with ADLs and supporting resident mobility
Basic vital signs observation and reporting skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and team members
Good documentation and time management habits
Infection control awareness and adherence to facility protocols
