Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Shift Type: Evening (Second) Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; days vary — schedule to be confirmed with the facility

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
Document care accurately and timely to maintain continuity and quality
Assist with meal service and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
Promote a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
Engage residents with respect, dignity, and meaningful interaction

Qualifications

Active GNA/CNA certification in the state or eligibility to obtain one
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Comfortable providing direct care to older adults with patience and respect
Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a team
Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality resident care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; GNA/CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and long-term care best practices
Familiarity with infection control and resident safety protocols
Ability to take and record vital signs and observe clinical changes
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when supporting residents and families
