Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise approximately 45 FTEs across Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental Services, setting clear expectations and developing training plans
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, and oxygen required for facility operations and patient care
• Direct preventative maintenance programs and inspect equipment to ensure adherence to manufacturer recommendations and operational standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and standards including NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and local building and fire codes
• Manage contractor performance and ensure outside contractors comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
• Serve as a liaison to other departments to assess needs and develop action plans that support patient care and operational efficiency
• Respond to customer and employee concerns promptly and professionally, fostering a culture of service and accountability
• Apply engineering principles to detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems to maintain safe, reliable facility operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes, construction phasing, and environmental services operations
• Ability to apply engineering principles systematically to troubleshoot and repair facility systems
• Candidate must be willing to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field)

• HVAC systems, boiler operation, plumbing and electrical systems
• Preventative maintenance scheduling and execution
