Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver precise radiographic examinations of all body parts for accurate diagnostic interpretation
Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles during procedures
Perform diagnostic medical radiography across departments and areas
Maintain detailed patient records and files with care
Lead departmental quality assurance efforts
Pursue ongoing continuing education to stay at the forefront
Safely transfer patients to and from radiology
Step up to manage the department in supervisor's absence
Rotate shifts and handle ancillary duties as needed
Assist with invasive procedures, venipuncture, and contrast administration in CT/interventional settings

Qualifications

Current ARRT in Radiography certification
Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every three years
Experience performing all diagnostic exams in assigned modality
Ability to work with patients across all age groups from newborn to geriatric
Willingness to take call and report within 20 minutes
Open to learning other imaging modalities like MRI, CT, Mammography

Education

ARRT certification levels: Tech I (one modality), Tech II (two modalities/ARDMS), Tech III (three modalities), Tech IV (four modalities)

Knowledge & Skills

Principles of growth and development over the life span
Radiation protection and professional judgment in procedures
Patient assessment and care tailored to individual needs
Quality assurance program management
Sterile technique and invasive procedure assistance
Tele-radiology transmission and equipment care
Venipuncture and contrast administration with age-specific adjustments
