Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and help maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, escalating changes to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to ensure continuity of care
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents and team members safe
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (PA preferred) — active and in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in a long-term/skilled nursing environment; prior LTC experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, compassion, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Required immunizations and background checks per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL support
- Vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Infection prevention and safety procedures
- Good time management, teamwork, and resident-centered communication
