Roles & Responsibilities

Provide clinical support and meet educational needs of new employees, staff, and students
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities including orientation and continuing education
Offer guidance on complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
Serve as a mentor enhancing clinical skills of nursing staff
Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and implement targeted interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on evidence-based standards
Act as patient and family advocate while promoting innovations for better care
Facilitate new protocols, equipment training, and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License for Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association
Minimum 5 years experience as RN in acute care preferred
Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC
High Risk Competency - SEARHC

Education

Nursing degree required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Sound clinical practice standards and procedures
Managing acutely ill patients and medical equipment
Evidence-based practices and quality improvement
Safe medication administration
Various teaching methods for professionals, patients, and families
Comprehensive patient assessments
Specialized procedures, patient education, and communication strategies
