Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (day/evening/night options)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $78 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and serology
- Operate and maintain advanced lab equipment including Abbott Architect, Stago, and Beckman Coulter analyzers
- Ensure accurate and timely test results to support patient care decisions
- Follow strict quality control procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide exceptional diagnostic services
Qualifications
- Active California CDPH Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum experience in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and serology
- Experience with Cerner LIS system preferred
- ASCP certification is optional but welcomed
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in using Abbott Architect, Stago, Gem 500, Beckman Coulter DxH, and DxU Iris analyzers
- Knowledge of BD Bactec Fx, Cepheid, and Biofire systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
