Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate occupational therapy services and hands-on interventions to help patients regain independence
• Assess patient needs and create individualized treatment plans based on functional goals
• Deliver therapeutic activities using adaptive equipment and evidence-based techniques
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate holistic care
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and on time
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and safety
• Maintain equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection-control practices

Qualifications

• Active COTA certification/license (or eligible to obtain Maryland COTA licensure)
• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working with adult/rehab populations in a post-acute or skilled setting
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work Monday–Friday day shift and meet documentation timelines

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (required)
• Continuing education units (CEUs) in related specialties are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of therapeutic activities, modalities, and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in activity analysis and functional assessment
• Proficient with clinical documentation and patient-centered goal writing
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and family members
• Good time management and ability to prioritize a varied caseload
• Familiarity with infection control, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance
