Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR to support patient independence
• Evaluate patient function and develop individualized treatment plans focused on ADLs, mobility and adaptive techniques
• Implement therapeutic activities and assistive-device training to improve safety and function
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document assessments, progress and discharge plans accurately in the clinical record
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to support successful transitions

Qualifications

• Active COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) certification required
• Current state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in Maryland
• Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab/contract setting and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Professional, compassionate communication skills and reliable documentation practices

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADL) training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and functional mobility techniques
• Experience with patient assessment, treatment planning and progress measurement
• Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
