Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate, respectful bedside care that preserves dignity
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and timely in patient charts and handoffs
• Collaborate with the care team to follow individualized care plans
• Maintain infection control, safety, and cleanliness standards on the unit

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Active CNA authorization to practice in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
• Comfortable and experienced working overnight/night shifts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Up-to-date immunizations and proof of any required background checks
• Prior experience in long-term care, acute care, or similar clinical setting preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer knowledge
• Vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Good charting and reporting skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and cultural sensitivity
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
