Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics during resident handling
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Help with meal assistance, feeding, and hydration monitoring when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents at all times
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active CNA credential in the state of Maine or ability to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and any facility-required health checks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a caring attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar healthcare settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Infection prevention and control principles
• Basic charting and documentation skills; familiarity with electronic records a plus
• Time management, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach to care
