Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living with dignity and respect
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility while encouraging independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately, reporting any changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support safe feeding and nourishment, including assistance with trays and dietary needs
• Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the resident chart
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and the care team to ensure cohesive, person-centered care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection prevention protocols
• Participate in shift handoffs and report any concerns to the charge nurse

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks as required by facility
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus but not mandatory

Education

• Completion of a state-approved CNA program; high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Basic vital signs and observation skills
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Teamwork, time management, and situational awareness
