Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Support bathing, dressing, mobility and toileting needs with dignity and respect
Measure and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the care team
Assist nursing staff with daily tasks and follow care plans accurately
Create comforting interactions and build trusting relationships with residents
Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection control practices
Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — Maine certification preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program
Comfortable working a long day shift (6:30 AM - 6:45 PM) and providing hands-on care
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements (TB, immunizations) as needed

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
Basic vital signs assessment and documentation skills
Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling techniques
Ability to chart accurately and follow established care plans
Compassionate interpersonal skills and de-escalation techniques
Teamwork, dependability, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
