Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday with evening coverage for events; PRN as needed; Occasional weekend and holiday event coverage

Roles & Responsibilities

Cover athletic events and after-school activities at the local high school, keeping athletes safe and thriving
Prevent, evaluate, manage, and rehabilitate athletic injuries through thorough histories, physical exams, and personalized action plans
Master concussion management by assessing, monitoring symptoms, and guiding safe return-to-play progressions
Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, and coaches to ensure everyone is on the same page
Document all treatments and evaluations with precision while analyzing root causes to prevent future injuries
Deliver occupational health services including POETs, desk assessments, and functional progress testing
Work as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic, taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and educating patients

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
1+ years of related work experience
Current Athletic Trainer license by the state of Wisconsin
Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
BLS certification
Valid driver's license
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail

Education

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required

Knowledge & Skills

Intermediate to expert computer proficiency
Musculoskeletal examinations
Concussion evaluations
Emergency care
Occupational health
Self-starter mindset with compassion, strong interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills
