Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments so each case starts smoothly
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during procedures while maintaining a sterile field
• Respond quickly and confidently during Level 1 trauma activations
• Support burn care procedures when needed and follow specialized protocols
• Maintain accurate case documentation and instrument counts for patient safety
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, nurses and anesthesia to keep the OR coordinated
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing observations on workflow and supplies

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Demonstrated Operating Room (OR) experience with high competency ratings
• Level 1 Trauma experience required; ability to perform under high-acuity situations
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred
• Availability for on-call, weekends and holiday coverage as part of the rotation
• Current BLS (or equivalent) certification preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and surgical instrumentation knowledge
• Familiarity with trauma protocols and rapid case setup
• Comfort with a variety of surgical specialties and urgency levels
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR environments
• Attention to detail for counts, documentation and patient safety
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing case assignments and schedules
