Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' functional abilities and craft meaningful, person-centered therapy plans
Implement therapeutic activities that promote independence in daily living
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes
Document progress, adjustments, and treatment plans in a timely and professional manner
Educate patients and families on strategies and home programs to support recovery
Advocate for patients' needs and help facilitate safe transitions across care settings

Qualifications

Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential — required
Eligible for or holding any required Vermont licensure/registration to practice as a COTA
Comfortable working Monday-Friday daytime schedule (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Strong communication and documentation skills
Previous experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation settings is a plus

Education

Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent (typical for COTA practice)
Completion of an accredited OTA program and COTA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic activity planning
Solid clinical reasoning and the ability to individualize interventions
Competent documentation and electronic medical record usage
Team-oriented approach and good communication with patients, families, and staff
Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively during a daytime shift
