Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to the assigned population
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely per orders
• Monitor and document patients’ clinical status and report changes promptly
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and security protocols within the facility
• Educate patients and support staff with clear, professional communication
• Complete required documentation and charting in a timely, accurate manner

Qualifications

• Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required
• Correctional healthcare or acute care nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet required onboarding requirements
• Willingness to complete one-week orientation prior to clinical assignment

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program (LVN diploma/certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and basic clinical assessment skills
• Comfortable with documentation and following strict protocols
• Ability to work collaboratively in a structured, security-sensitive environment
• Good judgment, situational awareness, and clear verbal/written communication
• Basic knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety practices
