Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to support high-quality care
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate resident documentation and support care plans with timely charting
• Support a clean, comfortable and dignified environment for residents, including meal assistance
• Communicate respectfully with residents and families to promote trust and understanding
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Basic life support/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively with team members
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-centered care skills with emphasis on dignity and respect
• Knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for resident and team interactions
• Ability to follow directions, document accurately, and prioritize resident needs
• Comfortable with physical aspects of caregiving including lifting and transfers
