Location: Lanham, MD

Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric patients including assistance with activities of daily living
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team to ensure timely interventions
Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of adaptive equipment to promote patient independence
Support a comfortable, hygienic environment by performing bedside care and maintaining cleanliness
Document patient care activities accurately and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members
Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful, patient-centered interactions

Qualifications

Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
Previous experience working with geriatric or rehabilitation patients preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and commitment to quality care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of an approved GNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care principles
Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Familiarity with basic documentation and charting practices
Ability to observe, record, and report changes in patient status clearly
Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and the care team
