Location: Lanham, Maryland

Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents — bathing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Monitor residents' condition and report changes to the nursing team promptly
Support meal service and feeding assistance when needed, ensuring nutrition and comfort
Document care accurately and communicate with fellow team members to ensure continuity
Create a warm, friendly environment — engage residents in conversation and activities to promote well-being

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Active CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
Comfortable working with geriatric populations in a rehab or long-term care setting
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but caring heart and eagerness to learn matter most

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatrics and common age-related conditions
Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
Basic vital signs and observation skills to notice subtle changes
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Clear documentation and charting habits
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
