Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, making each day safer and more comfortable
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Follow and support individualized care plans to meet each resident's needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and resident charts with attention to detail
• Support residents' social and emotional needs through meaningful interaction and engagement
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
• Communicate effectively with the care team and family members to coordinate excellent care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state certification required)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations preferred
• Able to perform physical tasks required for resident care and assist with mobility
• Able to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of geriatric care and resident dignity
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
• Accurate documentation and time management
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety procedures
• Team collaboration and willingness to learn
