Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Lanham, MD

Shift Type: Evening (Shift 2), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; specific days vary (contact recruiter for exact weekly schedule)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric patients with dignity and respect
Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
Document care activities and observations accurately and on time
Support therapeutic activities and encourage resident participation
Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
Communicate clearly with residents, families and the care team to coordinate great care

Qualifications

Active GNA certification or equivalent (class listed as GNA)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working with elderly patients and a patient, respectful bedside manner
Ability to lift/move residents as needed and follow safe body mechanics
Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Background checks and facility-specific onboarding requirements as needed

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Basic infection control and safety protocols
Strong observational skills and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication with residents and the care team
Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during shift
